Watts Bar Lake - Tennessee

Watts Bar Lake is located in East Tennessee, southwest of Knoxville in Roane, Meigs, Loudon and Rhea Counties. This 39,000 acre lake was built by Tennessee Valley Authority in 1942. Watts Bar Lake offers over 780 miles of shoreline and is one of Tennessee's most scenic lakes with many peninsulas, coves and islands. Watts Bar Lake on the Tennessee River is also fed by two other rivers and three large creeks. Watts Bar Lake is an ideal vacation destination as well as a great place for resort, second home or permanent living.

Recreation abounds at Watts Bar Lake with fishing, swimming, camping, boating, picnicking and wildlife and bird watching being popular activities. There are many resorts, campgrounds, rental cabins, restaurants and boat launches. Watts Bar Lake is a popular fishing lake with many species, including bluegill, catfish, crappie, striped bass, largemouth bass and smallmouth bass.
